Shared photo links that delete themselves: why it’s a good idea

A link to your photos can live in old chats for years. Here’s how a shared album that ends on its own keeps them yours.

  • Every Room has an end date.
  • You get an email a few hours before it ends.
  • Then the files are deleted automatically.
STEP 1

Pick how long the Room lives

When you create a Room, it gets an end date. On the free plan a Room lives up to 3 days, enough for everyone to add and download.

STEP 2

Save what you want to keep

Before the end, tap Download all, or Save to Photos on an iPhone. You get an email a few hours before the Room ends, as a reminder.

STEP 3

Let it go

When the Room ends, its files are deleted automatically. The old link in the group chat leads nowhere, so the photos don’t travel any further.

Can I get the photos back after the Room ends?

No. When a Room ends, its files are deleted. Download them before the end date.

Will I be warned?

Yes. The owner of a Room with files gets an email a few hours before it ends.

Are my photos used for anything else?

No. They are not used for ads or to train AI.
