Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Just Send Files (the “Service”). By uploading, sharing or downloading files through the Service, or by creating or entering a Room, you agree to them.

1. What the Service does

The Service lets you upload files, receive a link, and share that link (a “transfer”). It also lets you create a Room: a link through which other people can upload, view and download files, depending on the mode you choose. Files are stored temporarily and deleted automatically when the link or Room expires, or earlier when you delete them.

2. Accounts

Sending a transfer needs no account. Creating a Room requires signing in with Google, so that you can manage it later. Access to a transfer or Room is controlled by its link and, optionally, a PIN. Anyone who has the link (and the PIN, if any) can use it as the mode allows. Keep your links private.

3. Your content

You keep all rights to the files you upload. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store and deliver them to the people you share the link with. We do not open, modify, compress or analyse the content of your files, except automated integrity checks needed to operate the Service, the optional removal of photo metadata in Rooms, and manual review when a transfer or Room is reported.

4. Your responsibilities

  • Only upload content you have the right to share.
  • Follow the rules in section 5.
  • Keep a copy of your files. The Service is a transfer tool, not a backup.
  • You are responsible for what guests upload to your Room and for removing content that breaks these terms.

5. Prohibited files and acceptable use

You may not upload, share or collect through the Service:

  • content that is illegal where you or the recipient live;
  • child sexual abuse material or any content that sexualises minors (we report it to the authorities);
  • malware, phishing kits, or files meant to compromise other people’s devices or accounts;
  • content that infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark or privacy, including photos of people shared without consent where consent is required;
  • harassment, threats, or content shared to intimidate or expose a person;
  • spam, or using the Service as free hosting for automated distribution;
  • anything that tries to bypass limits, probe the infrastructure or interfere with other users’ transfers and Rooms.

We may remove transfers or Rooms, block links or restrict access without notice when we believe these rules are broken, and we report serious abuse to hosting providers or law enforcement. Anyone can flag a transfer or Room with the report form; every report is reviewed.

6. Deleting content

You can delete a transfer at any time from its success screen or your account, and a Room with every file in it from the Room menu, its Settings or Your Rooms. Deletion is immediate and permanent. Everything is also deleted automatically when it expires: 24 hours to 7 days for transfers, up to 90 days for Rooms.

7. Plans

Plan limits (storage, transfer size, file counts, durations and daily transfer counts) are listed on the pricing page. Anonymous use is limited per network connection (by IP address). “Unlimited” always means unlimited under fair use: we may restrict automated or excessive use.

Accounts start on the Free plan. Some accounts may receive Premium access free of charge or as a promotion, for a limited period or for life, at our discretion. Such complimentary access can be shortened or revoked by the administrator at any time. When Premium access ends, the account returns to the Free plan; existing transfers and Rooms are not deleted because of that, but Premium-only options are no longer available.

8. Limits and availability

Size, file-count and expiry limits are shown in the Service and may change. We may suspend or remove content that violates these terms, exceeds limits or receives abuse reports. The Service is provided “as is”; we do our best to keep it available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost data, lost profits or indirect damages arising from use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, which for a free service is zero.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms.
