How to make a private photo album only invited people can see

A link gets forwarded. Here’s how to keep a shared album to the people you actually invited.

In short
  • Set the Room to People I approve.
  • Guests sign in and ask to join.
  • You see who they are and tap Let in.
STEP 1

Turn on People I approve

In the Room’s Settings, under Access, pick People I approve. The link still works, but it now opens a door instead of the photos.

STEP 2

Share the link as usual

Send it in the group chat. Anyone who opens it signs in with Google and taps Request access, with an optional message like “It’s Ana from the trip”.

STEP 3

Let in the people you know

You get a “wants to join” notification with their name and email. Tap Review, then Let in or Decline. They get an email and a notification with your answer.

Questions

Can someone who forwards the link see the photos?

No. With People I approve, the link only opens a request page. The photos stay hidden until you let that person in.

What do I see about the person asking?

Their name, their email address and the message they wrote, if any.

Can I remove someone later?

Yes. You can remove a person’s access from the Room at any time.
