In short
  • WeTransfer Free: 3 GB or 10 transfers in 30 days, 3-day expiry.
  • Smash Free: priority up to 2 GB per transfer, up to 7 days.
  • Collecting from many people? A Room is built for that.
STEP 1

WeTransfer Free

According to WeTransfer’s help center, the Free plan allows up to 3 GB and up to 10 transfers in a rolling 30 days, and free transfers expire after 3 days.

STEP 2

Smash Free

Smash needs no sign-up. Its pricing page lists 2 GB per transfer on Free; bigger transfers join a queue behind paid ones. Free transfers stay up to 7 days. Receiving files through a drop-off link is on paid plans.

STEP 3

When a Room fits better

Both are made for one person sending to others. When many people need to send to you, like guests after a party, a Room gives everyone one link to add photos and videos, no account, in original quality.
