How to collect photos from a festival or concert with friends

Weak signal, dead batteries and five phones full of videos. Here’s how to put the whole festival in one album when you’re back.

In short
  • Make the Room before you go; the link in the group chat.
  • Upload when you’re back on Wi-Fi, not in the crowd.
  • Everyone downloads the whole weekend afterwards.
STEP 1

Make the Room before the festival

Create it at home and send the link to the group. Nobody needs an account, so even the friend-of-a-friend can add theirs.

STEP 2

Upload once you have Wi-Fi

Festival signal is weak and videos are big. Wait for the hotel or home Wi-Fi; the files go up in full quality, nothing compressed.

STEP 3

Mind the size of concert videos

A few minutes of 4K concert video is often a gigabyte or more. Keep only the best clips for the Room, and upload them on Wi-Fi, not over a weak festival signal.

STEP 4

Download the whole weekend

Download all gives everyone every photo and video at once, sorted in one place instead of five chats.

Questions
