How to send photos from Android to iPhone in full quality

AirDrop is built for Apple devices and chat apps shrink your photos. Here’s how to get originals from an Android phone to an iPhone.

In short
  • Chat apps compress photos and videos by default.
  • AirDrop is built for Apple devices.
  • Upload the originals once, open the link on the iPhone, save.
STEP 1

Skip the chat app

Sent as normal photos, messaging apps reduce size and quality. That is fine for a quick look, not for printing or editing. Videos lose the most.

STEP 2

Upload the originals from the Android phone

Open a Room in the browser, tap Add files and pick the photos and videos. They go up exactly as they are, no app to install.

STEP 3

Open the link on the iPhone

Send the link in any chat. On the iPhone, Download all saves photos and videos straight to Photos, not to Files, in original quality.
