How to send RAW photos to a client

RAW files are huge and email won’t take them. Here’s how to hand over a full shoot of RAWs from one link, untouched.

In short
  • RAW files are tens of megabytes each; email can’t carry them.
  • Upload them to a Room exactly as they are.
  • The client downloads every file with one tap.
STEP 1

Export nothing, upload the RAWs

Upload the CR3, NEF, ARW or DNG files as they are. Nothing is converted or compressed on the way.

STEP 2

Add JPG previews if the client needs to look first

Browsers can’t show RAW files, so the Room lists them as files. Add a few JPG previews next to them if the client wants to see the shoot before downloading.

STEP 3

Send the link and a deadline

The client opens the link, no account, and taps Download all. On a computer the files come as one ZIP.

Questions

Is there a file size limit?

Each file can be up to 50 GB. On Free all files together share 10 GB.

Will the RAW files be changed?

No. The client downloads exactly the files you uploaded.

Can I add a password?

Yes. Add a PIN to the Room and send it to the client separately.
